New Growth Psychology

So you want to start therapy...
That's great!
Therapy has the ability to change the way you feel about yourself, your relationships and your life!
The therapy I provide aims to do more then provide endless validation and support. I am invested in helping you go deeper in understanding your thoughts, feelings and behavior, while identifying areas in your life where you are ignoring opportunities to grow. This means calling out what is not working for you directly and clearly.

Before moving forward you should know...
1. I am cash pay. My fee is $300. I do not accept any insurance. I do partner with Mentaya which is a third party company that will confirm out-of-network benefits, submit superbills and track claims. Check out https://www.mentaya.com/patients for more information.
2. I see clients weekly. I do not provide bi-weekly or monthly appointments until a client is transitioning out of therapy. I want you to make progress and the best way to make progress is to come consistently.
3. I work best with clients who are motivated and understand that therapy requires commitment, engagement and vulnerability. Therapy is not a passive experience. If you want a therapist that will listen to you endlessly and only make supportive reflections, then I am not the right therapists for you.
4. I am going to make things personal. I believe that the relationship between the therapist and the client is one of the most important variable for a successful treatment (which is also supported by research) This means that your I will be asking about your reactions and behaviors in session and confronting you when you present behavior in session that is in conflict with your goals.
5. I do not provide manualized or protocoled therapy. I believe that therapy is dynamic and unique to each person's situation. I do not provide step-by-step instructions. I do help you answer your own questions and tolerate the anxiety that exists in making change.
6. I do not work with clients that do not want to be in therapy. If you do not really want to be in therapy or are only pursuing therapy because of external pressure, then now is not the right time for therapy.
